On September 9th, 2010, Carlos Campos presented his beautiful menswear collection at the Cueto Project on West 21st Street. For the S/S 2011 season, Mr. Campos was inspired by the continental world traveler, and it was beautifully translated for today’s consumer. He reflects upon poets who have walked the streets along which dreams and legends are made.
Mr. Campos is 2009 Fashion Group International Rising Star winner for best Menswear Design. His designs have been worn by the likes of Justin Timberlake, Enrique Iglesias, Ethan Hawke, Fall Out Boys, and many other celebrities. He has also appeared on Style, VH1, ET, A&E, and other notable networks. His designs have also been featured in many editorials such as Details, Flaunt, WWD, Zink, and many other notable magazines and newspapers.
The gallery’s backdrop was all white which worked perfect for the way he displayed the models. The models were lined up by the walls as art exhibit. They were in three separate rooms where they interacted with each other while Mr. Campos adjusted their clothing for photo opts. The show in general was great. During the hour and a half that I was there I did not get tired of walking around into each room to see the audience’s reaction towards the clothing and the way the models were used for the show.
Congratulations to Carlos Campos for his accomplishment, and success!
The after party for the show was held at XIX on Kenmare Street. The scene was a beautiful crowd of stylish people that have been following his success.
