On Friday, October 22nd, Ivan, Elizabeth and Gabriel celebrated their birthdays at Bedlam Bar & Lounge on LES. Bedlam, named after the first insane asylum in London, is a cool bar and lounge that captures the essence of a 19th century parlor bar. The flavor of the neighborhood and the former space is retained with the exposed brick wall and original, red vinyl benches. The back room—slated to host private events—still features 40C’s generous-sized bathroom and skylight (in addition to—surprise!—more animal heads).
I normally don’t like going out to birthday parties but being that it was glass artist, Ivan Lee Mora’s birthday I attended the joint celebration. I also wanted to see Ivan before he heads out to Germany for an exhibit that will showcase his beautiful work. The details for this group exhibit is right below:
