Season opener for Harlem School of the Arts Theatre, “The Devil & Elijah Muhammad” an A.E.A. showcase

Gertrude Jeannette and The H.A.D.L.E.Y. Players will open their 2011/2012 Theatre Season with the dynamic and award-winning play by Yusef Salaam, “The Devil and Elijah Muhammad”, directed by Ward Nixon andfeaturing a stellar cast, in alphabetical order: Albert Eggleston, Ivan Goris, Ralph McCain*, Tomike Ogugua, Jared Reinmuth*, Valarie Tekosky*, Joan Valentina*, Cooki Winborn*. (*Appearing Courtesy of Actor’s Equity Association)

“The Devil and Elijah Muhammad” will play from October 25 through November 6, 2011, at The Harlem School of the Arts Theatre, located at 647 St. Nicholas Avenue, at 142nd Street in Harlem.
The Show Dates and Times are Tuesday’s through Saturday’s at 7:30p.m., and Sunday’s at 2:30p.m.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE H.A.D.L.E.Y. PLAYERS NOW PRESENT 6 SHOWS PER WEEK FOR A CONSECUTIVE TWO WEEK PERIOD. AGAIN, TUESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY (6 SHOWS) FOR WEEK 1, AND, TUESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY (6 SHOWS) FOR WEEK 2. THIS NEW SCHEDULE “REPLACES” THEIR PREVIOUS WEEKEND ONLY SCHEDULE.
Ticket Prices are $20 or two for $30, General Admission; $15 for Seniors, Students or Groups of five or more; and $8 for Children under 12.

SYNOPSIS:  This powerful drama captures a portion of this great Muslim leader’s life and legacy. “The Devil and Elijah Muhammad” delves into the makings of Elijah Muhammad’s ideologies, thought processes, drive and commitment to his belief system, as well as his love and respect for the Black race. Come see why he was loved by many, hated by many, and criticized and misunderstood by many. This play is full of suspense, intrigue, and, a very unexpected turn of events. A must see!
